In 2011 the Kriterie Sale takes place at Scandic Infra City in Upplands Väsby
September 29 - October 1. The sale is open for 466 yearlings.
The most interesting 100 yearlings will be sold on the select sale at Thursday.

Lowest bid: 20 000 SEK all sales days
Stake fee for auction races: 1 000 SEK
VAT (25 %) and sale fee (5 %, maximum 15.000 SEK)
will be added to the price.

The auction will be sent live all days on internet trough a link on www.asvt.se
If you would be prepared for bidding on a horse by telephone you need to contact Trottex office or mr Robert Lindstrom not later than the 27 of september.

Buying a horse!
It´s easy to buy a horse at sale! All you need is to find the horse you want.
Please not that you need to make arrangement for the payment in advance.
All horses will be presented each sales day in the boxes and showing area just outside the Scandic Infra City.
You are free to walk around the area, look at horses, ask for more information and for the sellers to present their horse in the showing area.
Just watch out for your own saftey - many young horses are not yet used to the situation.

Bidding & Paying
No registration is required before bidding.
The bidding takes place in the main hall, in the ringside restaurant and in ballroom.
VAT (25 %), sale fee (5 %, maximum 10.000 SEK) and stake fee for Auction Races (1.000 SEK) will be added to the price!

Payment arrangements
Please note that cash or credit card is not accepted as payment. The easiest way to pay is to use a Sales Account. It means that you send money to Trottex in advance. The money will be hold on a special account and if you don´t spend the whole sum, Trottex will transfer the money back to you shortly after the Kritere sale is closed.

Foreign buyers have to pay the VAT. To get the VAT payed back Trottex need your VAT number (EU), your account details (SWIFT and IBAN) and a paper from the customs or transportation firm which proves that the horse left Sweden as soon as possible after the sale. Trottex need this information within 30 days after the sale.

If you bought a horse
The buyer is obligated to exam the horse at all circumstances.
The seller of the horse is only liable for hidden defects and only if the defect will effect the horse´s ability as a trotter. The buyer may only claim liability for hidden defects if the buyers within 30 days from the auction performing a veterinary inspection/X-ray and forwards a written complaint received by Trottex within 30 days from the auction. Thereafter no demands can be made towards the seller unless the seller has acted fraudulent.

Notice - no horses are allowed tho stay the night in the box area. If you can´t take your horse with you, just tell the secreatariat staff and they will help you contact and transportate the horse to the horse hotel.

Exportation
If You want to export the horse You have bought at the sale You have to pay the export certificate (1.875 SEK) to STC. Just tell the secretariat staff and they will help You to do so.

New rules concerning Anabolic Steroids
Recently new rules concerning Anabolic Steroids were introduced. Anabolic Steroids have been totally forbidden in Sweden for a long time, but starting 2010 a positive test of usage of anabolic steroids will result in a competing ban for two years. In 2012 a positive test will result in a lifelong competing ban.
Due to this Trottex have updated the terms of auction by giving both sellers and buyers increased obligations. The seller will have an increased duty of information and the buyer will have an increased duty of examination. For the buyer to be able to perform his increased duties he has to be able to take a hair sample for analysis and receive an answer of the test within the time it’s possible to claim liability for hidden defects. Due to this Trottex has increased the number of days within which a complaint has to be made. It’s now possible to make a complaint for hidden defects due to usage of anabolic steroids within 60 days after the auction. Complaints due to other hidden defects has to med made within 30 days after the auction as before. If a complaint is made, Trottex has the right to withhold payment in full at the buyer’s request until the dispute is settled.
Test kits are available in the secretariat. Please contact Trottex for more information. Trottex will collect the samples taken and send them for analysis.
Estimated cost for the analysis is approximately 4 000 SEK. The analysis is expected to be performed within 8 weeks.
